Wayne Brandon Gabb

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Name: Wayne Brandon Gabb
Age: 20, 21 in March
Year: Junior
Major: Psychology with a minor in sociology and anthropology
Relationship status: Taken

Career goals: “Go on to grad school and either work in a hospital or own my own private practice as a psychologist.”

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done? “I’d guess that would be playing spoons with a group of friends and wrestling for a spoon with a girl I met literally 5 minutes before hand.”

What’s one weird thing about you? “I know way too much random stuff about movies and actors. I am my own walking Imdb.”

What are your hobbies and interests? “I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing volleyball, tennis, movies, watching TV, going out to eat. Also, board games and personal talks (part of me wanting to a be psychologist).”

If you had a time machine, what would you go back and change in either your own life or in history? “If I could go back in time I’d either try to prevent a world war or slavery from happening.”

What one is one thing you love about USF and one thing you hate? “I love all the different people here. To me, it is not the university, it is the students and the professors who are great. One thing I don’t like about USF is probably all the construction going on.”

Any words of wisdom? “I guess my words of wisdom are that you can never know everything about someone from a “first impression” or here say. People are too complex and too unique to be categorized. So don’t bother, every single person is different and that should be celebrated.”

Daylina Miller is a senior at the University of South Florida studying multimedia journalism and psychology and anticipates graduating spring 2012. She is a member of the national and USF chapter of The Society of Professional Journalists, Bull Bikers' Association, and the Heavy Metal Enthusiasts Club. She currently writes news features for USF's website and is an avid blogger. Her interests include traveling, writing, tarot, paranormal research and photography. She recently enjoyed a travel/study tour to London and various cities in Ireland and plans on backpacking through Europe after graduation. Being a mermaid didn't pan out and paranormal research won't pay her bills so her ultimate goal is to report for a well-respected daily newspaper or magazine as a multimedia journalist.
