TV Tuesday: 17 Shows That Come Back This Month

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Ahh, September. The transition month between summer and fall. The beginning of a new semester. Scalloping season. The month with the day the entirety of America dreads. However, it also means the beginning of show seasons!

We all have our shows, and we are all heartbroken when a season ends. Unfortunately, it’s usually because of the tiny threads producers leave us to cling to for months at a time, otherwise known as cliffhangers. We’ve all done our waiting, not exactly 12 years of it but it might as well have been! (If you didn’t catch that Harry Potter reference, I’m sorry. But more in a “sarcastic” way than an “apologetic” way).

Here are some of the shows that come back this month:

1. “New Girl”

Yes, Schmidt. Yes, we can.

September 16th at 9 p.m. on Fox

2. “The Mindy Project”

BRB buying a chocolate fountain to hold my Mindy cravings over until the middle of the month.

September 16th at 9:30 p.m. on Fox

3. “Red Band Society”

This is a new series about what life is like in a hospital for a group of unlikely friends. Let’s just say we’re all going to go through many tissue boxes and by the end of the first season we will probably all be in the fetal position wishing it would never end.

September 17th at 9 p.m. on Fox

 4. “The Big Bang Theory”

Bring on the nerdiness, we’re ready for laughter!

September 22nd at 8 p.m. on CBS

5. “The Blacklist”

Nuff’ said.

September 22nd at 10 p.m. on NBC

6. “Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

If the fact that Agent Coulson isn’t dead, or the weird writing he’s doing on the wall doesn’t intrigue you, then I don’t know what will. Oh wait, yes I do. This show goes along with everything that’s happened in all the Marvel superhero movies! You’re welcome.

September 23rd at 9 p.m. on ABC

7. “Awkward”

Who wouldn’t relate to this show?

September 23rd at 10 p.m. on MTV

8. “Person of Interest”

Orson Welles was right, he just had the wrong year.

September 23rd at 10 p.m. on CBS

9. “The Goldbergs”

Who couldn’t be moved by an awkward family photo with matching sweaters?

September 24th at 8:30 p.m. on ABC

10. “Modern Family”

Let’s leave it at that.

September 24th at 9 p.m. on ABC

11. “Bones”

You clap those hands, Sweets!

September 25th at 8 p.m. on Fox

12. “Grey’s Anatomy”

This isn’t just some typical medical show. It is life. Sobbing over fictional characters will become a hobby of yours, if it isn’t already (guilty as charged).

September 25th at 8 p.m. ABC

13. “Scandal”

This isn’t even breaking ground with all of the scandalous things that happen.

September 25th at 9 p.m. ABC

14. “How To Get Away With Murder”

This is another new series by Shonda Rhimes. That alone should persuade you.

September 25th at 10 p.m. ABC

15. “Once Upon A Time”

Because FROZEN.

September 28th at 8 p.m. ABC

16. “Revenge”

Who doesn’t like a little revenge?

September 28th at 10 p.m. ABC

17. “Castle”

C’mon ladies, the wedding bells are ringing.

September 29th at 10 p.m. on ABC

And because it starts only two days into October, which let’s face it, barely counts as October anyway…

BONUS: “The Vampire Diaries”

If you haven’t been ready for this particular show’s next season, you’re not human. Personally, I’ve been crying ever since the season finale four months ago.

October 2nd at 8 p.m. on The CW Network

I am a Junior at the University of South Florida where I am claiming a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications concentrating on Public Relations. In the future I'd like to plan concerts for a big corporation. When I'm not attending class, or working on homework I'm usually catching up on my television shows, playing video games, writing articles, or spending time with my family, friends, and dogs. I am apart of many fandoms-too many to count, and I've always wanted to go to a convention and cosplay.
