MUSIC MONDAY: Melanie Lynx debuts EP Naked Heart

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Melanie Lynx, a former Music Monday artist, has finally released her debut EP Naked Heart. Naked Heart is a raw and emotionally charged EP that seems to chronicle the different phases of love and relationships. Lynx’s catchy hooks and honest lyrics will pull listeners in because of her willingness to wear her heart on her sleeve, as she bares her soul like an open diary through her music. On the EP songs like “I Spy” and “Perfectly Flawed” show off Lynx’s more upbeat, pop-centric vibe with catchy lyrics that will have you singing and dancing along. Songs like “Wasted” and “Naked Heart” take a different turn and show off her more vulnerable and serious side whereas “First Time” shows off Lynx’s sentimental side.

Lynx’s vocals are a raspy and intoxicating medley that is a breath of fresh air, as she stands out with a voice that sounds like a blending of Kelly Clarkson and Demi Lovato. If her music is able to speak for itself Melanie Lynx has the potential to become a huge pop star.
