Her Campus: Why did you join her Campus? What do you like about it?

Sarah Halwani: “I joined HC as a New Year’s Resolution to get involved at USF back in 2012. Thankfully I ended up liking it! I love how it’s geared toward women and women empowerment during their college years. It’s very creative and unique!

HC: What’s your academic and/or career goals?

SH: “To get an internship at a financial services firm (academically speaking). In the long run, I want to work in corporate media and travel as much as I can! Also I want to learn Italian.”

HC: Who is your celebrity crush (guy or gal)?

SH: “J. Law. She embodies inner/outer perfection.”

HC: What is your favorite quote?

SH: “The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.”-Ayn Rand

HC: What do you turn to for inspiration?

SH: “Reading a good book often inspires me. I also like to read blogs and I recently started my own blog which I use to write when I’m feeling inspired and it also inspires me, so it’s kind of a cycle!”

HC: What are your favorite places around USF and the surrounding area? Why?

SH: “I really like the business building, and I love sitting anywhere outdoors on the benches. It is usually very serene and quiet at certain times in the day.”

HC: What advice do you have for incoming freshman?

SH: “Make lots of mistakes. It’s OK to say no. Find something you are passionate about and run with it.”

HC: What is your favorite class you’ve taken at USF?

SH: “Intro to world religions, international finance, intro to philosophy, and great performances on film.”

HC: What’s a fun fact about you?

SH: “I speak Arabic and French. I’ve lived in 4 different countries throughout my life.”

HC: Who’s your role model?

SH: “I think my role model is any woman who is driven, passionate about what she does and does it with grace.”
