This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Samantha Stern, originally from Old Bridge, NJ, is a senior at the University of South Florida and a writer here at Her Campus USF! Her major is mass communications with a concentration in magazine journalism. She hopes to pursue her passion for improving herself and helping others through writing and editing for a women’s interest magazine. “I can learn ways to improve my own life and, at the same time, share self-improvement and personal growth tidbits with other women,” said Samantha.

Samantha is scheduled to graduate May of 2014. After graduation, she hopes to get a job editing online content for a women’s interest magazine. Her ambition and drive has been a part of her for as long as she can remember. “Nothing makes me happier than when I am hard at work and accomplishing things,” said Samantha. Samantha admits that though this year has been tough academically, her constant hard work makes her feel better than ever. Samantha’s parents are her motivation to continue to strive to well so that she can make them proud.

Samantha chose USF because of its great academic reputation and so that she could remain near her family. She hopes to go to graduate school because she loves learning. As for her time at USF, the best professor she has had is Dr. Betty Chroninger who taught her AP English Composition class in high school and English II at USF. Samantha says she admires Dr. Chroninger because of her dedication and excellence in teaching. Dr. Chroninger helped Samantha give her confidence in her writing skills.

Outside of school and Her Campus USF, Samantha enjoys reading and swimming. Samantha is a huge Harry Potter fan and has read the entire series over 20 times! As for swimming, Samantha was on the swim team all through high school. She loves swimming laps and her favorite stroke is the breaststroke. Samantha recently took up juggling as a stress reliever.
