Meet Her Campus member, Madison Scott. She is the new Her Campus USF Campus Correspondent! Learn more about this Disney-lover below!
Her Campus: Why did you join Her Campus?
Madison Scott: I’ve always loved writing and I really wanted to get involved with an organization on campus. I had read Her Campus my first year in school, but didn’t realize it was something I could be a part of until I got an email from the Mass Communications Department about joining.
HC: What’s your major and year at USF?
MS: I’m a third year student and a mass communications major with a film studies minor.
HC: What’s your academic and/or career goals?
MS: Academic goals would be finishing school in the next two years and with as little debt as possible! Career goals are to move up in the Disney Company and be in charge of one of their social media accounts.
HC: Where are you originally from?
MS: I was born in a small town in North Carolina, but we moved to Tampa when I was seven. I’ve been here ever since.
HC: What brought you to USF?
MS: USF was close to home and I knew the school well because my mother worked there when I was younger. I had friends attending and I got a car if I decided to make USF my undergrad home.
HC: What is your favorite class you’ve taken at USF?
MS: So far, my favorite class was definitely astronomy! It was just an elective class, but I was so amazing learning about the cosmos and my teacher had the coolest Irish accent.
HC: What are your hobbies?
MS: I enjoy reading and writing, watching make up tutorials on YouTube, hanging out at Disney, and having lazy days in bed!
HC: What is your favorite quote?
MS: “We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle.” Marilyn Monroe
HC: What advice do you have for incoming freshman?
MS: School and grades are important, but don’t forget to look after your mental and personal health! Sometimes it’s okay to take a day for you and lounge around in bed.
HC: What’s a fun fact about you?
MS: I’m adopted!
HC: Who’s your role model?
MS: My mother! She’s been through so much and has worked so hard to give my brother and I the best life possible. Had it not been for her pushing me, I would have missed out on so many amazing opportunities.
