You may have thought that nothing goes together better than peanut butter and jelly or cheese and crackers. Well, you thought wrong!

Leather and lace make the perfect marriage. Achieve flawless fashion balance with an outfit with both leather and lace elements. It’s both sweet and sassy. It’ll transform you into that good girl with feisty edge. Best of all, the leather and lace combo is uber trendy and super fashion-forward!

Here’s some inspiration for your own well-balanced outfit.

Pair some leather hotpants with a pretty, structured lace top. Throw in some leather, studded accessories. The studs and whinestones on the bracelet mimic the pretty/edgy contradiction expressed in the rest of the outfit. Wear some bold yet glamourous eye makeup and a sweep of blush. Finish the look with black nail polish with flair, such as sparkles or baubles.

For this look, the magenta lace dress is the star! The A-line fit flatters every figure. Complement it with a sexy biker jacket and studded heels. Edgy yet sophisticated earrings embody the good girl/bad girl motiff. Soft eyeshadow with exaggerated eyeliner and sparkly feminine nails round off this look.

If you’re going out to a party or a club, a more exaggerated version of leather-lace is in order. Be a trendsetter in a leather dress with a cool silhouette. This sleeveless dress boasts a structured bodice, quilt-stitched side panels and a big flirty skirt. Offset the short dress with lacy tights and clunky bootie shoes with lace overlay. Play up the dichotomy with girly accessories like a floral headband and a pale lace-inspired bracelet. Complement the outfit with big, bold eyes and plenty of mascara. A light glossy lip, and full, tousled hair complete the look.

Hey there! My name is Samantha Stern and I'm a graduating senior of mass communication with a concentration on magazine journalism at the University of South Florida. I've been writing for Her Campus USF since January 2013 and this semester I was appointed editor-in-chief of the online publication. Life is a stressful thing and I want to provide a means of escape and self- improvement for young women, as well as for myself, by writing fun, engaging and useful content accessible anytime and anywhere via the internet. My ultimate goal is to empower women in their 20's. Women are hungry for everyday life advice. They crave tips for achieving the ideal in money, intelligence, beauty, fashion, health and lifestyle. I will satiate their informational appetite and, more importantly, help them become their outright best by writing fun and practical content relevant to the modern 20-something.When I'm not writing you can find me reading magazines (duh!) and books, taking long, hot baths and exploring local haunts with friends and family.Feel free to follow we on Twitter @samantha__stern or check out my resume and portfolio by clicking here.
