FASHION FRIDAY: Game Day Fashion

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Have you heard about our Game Day Cutie fashion contest that we are holding for the homecoming game this Saturday? We want to embrace the sophisticated side of tailgating. Inspired by SEC schools that are known for their game day fashions and school spirit, we wanted to bring the SEC southern flavor to Tampa for the homecoming game and elevate our tailgating experience! It’s homecoming, so why not get a little more dressed up for the game?

On Saturday snap a photo of yourself dressed to impress in your most fabulous USF game day fashion and post it to Instagram with the hashtag: #HCUSFGameDayCutie! Spread the word to your friends and get them to vote for your photo by liking it. The cutie with the most votes by the end of the night will be the winner of our prize pack which includes essentials for every stylish collegiette. (Including Lauren Conrad’s book, Style!)

The most well-known school for their sophisticated tailgating in the SEC is the University of Mississippi. Guys dress anywhere from jacket and a tie to Ole Miss-branded polo shirts and pants, and the girls break out sundresses and stilletos.

While Ole Miss might associate game day fashion with their Sunday best, it doesh’t mean that you have to tromp around Raymond James in heels! Playing around on Polyvore we put together different green and gold outfits that were just more chic than if we were in a t-shirt and jeans. Click on each photo set for more deatils!

NAILS
I’ve scoured the shelves and found the best USF green and gold nail lacquers for you. For fall, lots of nail polish companies have great green shades for your nails. Essie’s latest collection includes “Stylenomics.”
OPI nails the perfect USF green with “Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow.” For collegiettes that require a little sparkle, let it be known that China Glaze has the best glittery nail polishes. If you’re looking for an emerald green with some shimmer, “Emerald Sparkle” is for you! Check out more nails on our Pinterest page.

Yellow and gold polishes were a little more difficult for me to find. If you’re searching for a gold glitter nail polish China Glaze’s “Cleopatra” is perfect. If you want a yellow nail polish China Glaze’s “Happy go Lucky” is an excellent choice. If you want a gold nail polish OPI’s “Golden Rules” hits the jackpot.

MAKEUP
USF’s colors are provide lots of opportunity for pretty eye makeup. Pinterest and YouTube have lots of tutorials to help you achieve these looks. If you to keep it simple, a gold smokey eye is the perfect look for you. Check out more makeup inspiration on our Pinterest page.

If you want to go all out with your USF Bull pride then a green and gold smokey eye is the way to go.

If you’re going for a majorly dramatic look then go for a emerald green smokey eye.
