Do you want to start off this new year with a new sense of confidence and self-worth? Do you often find yourself doubting yourself? Well I have discovered a few things that help my self-confidence and make me feel good.

Give Yourself Some Extra Time to Wake Up in the Morning

Often times when we wake up late, we have to throw on an outfit we do not feel confident in, or do not even have time to even think about doing our hair or makeup. Giving yourself an extra 10 minutes allows you to mentally and physically prepare for the day.

Smile

A smile portrays your best inner self outward. I see it as an invitation for another person to be positive to you. A smile is proven to improve your mood and overall day.

“A smile spurs a chemical reaction in the brain, releasing certain hormones including dopamine and serotonin,” says Dr. Isha Gupta from NBC News. “Dopamine increases our feelings of happiness. Serotonin release is associated with reduced stress.”

Dress in What Makes you Feel Confident

Every woman has a different body shape and color preferences. Figuring those out and finding the styles of clothing or colors that flatter you will make you feel on top of the world. For example, if you have pear body type an A-line dress will give you an illusion of an hourglass figure. More details, and to find your body type go to stylecraze.com.

At the end of the day, wear what makes you feel beautiful and secure.

Talk to Yourself

Although it might feel dumb at first, talking to yourself in the mirror is a way to boost your morale and give yourself the gratification you are looking for. Talk to yourself before giving a presentation, before going to your in-laws who always seem to find something negative to say, or even before just going into class. Give yourself the pep talk your longing for, because its 2019 ladies, and independence is important.

Surround Yourself With People who Build You Up

Being around people who are constantly putting you down will shake anyone’s confidence. Find people who love you despite your flaws and point out your strongpoints.

Remember Where You Came From

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made” Psalm 139:14.

The same God that made the universe and all the wonders that are in it, made you. Remembering this is the most important tip this article has. He would not want you to look at your body and think less of it. He loves you and made you in the image of Him.
