Bulls Relief: USF Outdoor Adventures

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

There is nothing better than getting away for the weekend after a long week of lectures and
homework. However, for some of us our schedule and daily lives are filled to the max with minimum time to spare for planning a weekend adventure. Luckily we go to USF, who offers us already planned outdoor adventure trips. If you haven’t checked them out before, you may find there is quite a variety available. Here, these pre-planned destinations already have the transportation covered and all the details you need without having to call around. You’ll also be surprised to learn that many of the trips are relatively inexpensive, with one trip starting at only $11.00. Discounts are also offered at group rates, so the more people that you get to sign up, the cheaper your cost can be. This is also a great way to meet some of your other classmates that share similar interests as you do.

If your unable to go away for an entire weekend than there are many day trips that can be  joined in on such as a beach day to Clearwater, a day of tubing at Rainbow River, a day of Kayaking at Wheedon Island, and even horseback riding. If you are available for a whole weekend, two day trips can be found such as a white water rafting trip to Ocoee River, TN, an Ocala backpacking trip, a wild caving trip to Racoon Caverns, TN, plus many others. Also if you really want to go somewhere during you spring break this year but are sick of the beach, they already have you covered with a weeklong trip to enjoy in the Smokey Mountains.

If you are not finding your exact dream adventure day or trip from what is currently planned, customized adventure experiences are available as well. Currently USF’s Outdoor Recreation wants to help create opportunities for organizations, community groups, or even just friends and family to have some fun outdoors. They are willing to give you ideas, such as skiing in Colorado or air boating in the Everglades, as they are also willing to collaborate with you so you can put your ideas into action. Once you let the outdoor rec know what it is you want to experience they will start working on taking care of the details, such as affordable pricing, transportation, equipment, food, and reservations.
Being in college isn’t all about the school books; it’s also about having fun and making memories with people you care about. So get on the Outdoor Recreation link and decide what sort of memories you want to make next.
