I don’t know about you, but I immediately fell in love with Carey Mulligan the moment that I started watching “Promising Young Woman.”

Now, Mulligan will be come back to the silver screen playing Megan Twohey alongside Zoe Kazan playing Jodi Kantor, two of the journalists who exposed Harvey Weinstein launching one of the biggest movements we have seen, #MeToo. The movie, “She Said”, which is based on Kantor’s and Twohey’s book of the same name, will follow the journey of the movement as they take on one of Hollywood’s biggest powers.

The movie is directed by Emmy winner Maria Schrader, who directed Netflix’s original show Unorthodox. It also features a screenplay by Oscar winner Rebecca Lenkiewicz, whose credits include Ida and Disobedience.

This movie will have one of two results, a hit or a miss.

It would be really easy for it to become a miss, to fall into the pitfalls of a movie undertaking such a heavy topic. However, everything points to it being a hit. Reviews of the movie so far have been positive and praise the leading actresses for their performance.

“She Said” focuses on the emotions, it does so much more than just giving the highlights of the story, according to IndieWire. The movie’s storytelling is characterized as “immersive,” filled with emotion and information. The film is “sensitive” and “emotionally astute,” according to The Guardian. All of this has combined to make my hopes for this movie incredibly high.

The movie will premiere on Nov. 18th in the US. I sincerely suggest you check it out when it hits theaters.

My name’s Camila. I moved to the US from Nicaragua in 2018 and that is how I fell in love with writing. It allowed me to share those feelings of not belonging and feeling lost.
