Dates for Rainy Days!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USC (AU) chapter.

Semester one at USC has seen a nearly constant pouring of rainy days. But don’t let the cloudy skies ruin any date with your best friends or special someone! Here’s a list of three date ideas that will let you make the most of those rainy days:

Cook up a storm!

All you’ll need for this delicious indoor date is: 1 x friend, 1 x kitchen, and 1 x recipe! You could bake a batch of brownies or prepare an over-the-top three course feast! And if your cooking skills aren’t amazing, how about decorating a store-bought cake? This date idea is perfect for best friends who share an addiction to cookie dough, as well as couples looking to escape the classic dinner-and-a-movie date.

Rain, rain, skate away!

Not only is skating great exercise (trust me: you’ll feel it the next day!), but it’s a perfect way to spend time with your partner or best friend. It’s also an excellent way to get out of the house, plus guys will love the chance to show off their skills! Search online for your closest indoor skating rink and make an afternoon of it!

Get arty!

Escape the television and computer screens and make a quick trip to the discount store and pick up some paints and some card or canvas and unleash the artist within! This idea may sound a bit cheesy but it can be really great fun. Whether you work together or compete against each other, you’re sure to create some sweet memories along with your creations!

Michaela's other passions include travel, cooking and running. The next places on her list to visit are USA and Canada, then southern Africa.
