Instagram has been a multimedia platform for anyone, from celebrities, to fitness instructors, to artists as a place for them to express their creativity, talent and gain followers. Recently I’ve been on an art kick and have been following a multitude of artistic professionals whose work inspires me to be creative. At times, Instagram can be overwhelming. Constantly seeing beautiful people lead seemingly perfect lives can have a negative impact on mental health and lead to feeling insignificant and stagnant.

Whenever I begin feeling this way, I jump off of the pages of these “perfect people” and scroll through artists accounts, finding their creativity invigorating. Art is never “perfect” and beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, it gives a sense of reality, of how messy life can and will be. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or not, I would encourage anyone to delve into the creative side of their brain and take a look at Instagram accounts of artists, it can be therapeutic!
