March’s Fav Line Up

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UPRM chapter.

1. Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon

This “liquid lipstick” is the most extraordinary thing I’ve ever tried. It goes on as a silky cream and then dries to a gorgeous matte deep red that flatters every skin tone. The best part is, once it dries, it will not budge for 8 hours. It’s food, drink and make out proof.

3. L’Oreal’s Curve It Curl Taming Cream

I must admit, I am guilty of being that girl you rakes through the drugstore aisles trying to find the newest hair product, that won’t dry or damage my curls, and it’s an ordeal each and every time. Recently I stumbled upon L’Oreal’s Curve It Curl Taming Cream and I must say, I was hooked after just the first time I used it. This taming cream helps fight frizz while adding volume, shine and an amazing scent. Just apply it to your damp hair and dry with a diffuser, or air-dry if you prefer, and voilà you have amazing, bouncy curls that last all day!

4. Carrington Farms Extra-Virgin Coconut Oil

I’m obsessed with Carrington Farms Extra-Virgin Coconut Oil and definitely recommend it! Carrington Farms extra-virgin coconut oil is certified organic, has no trans & hydrogenated fats, and is perfect for healthy high heat cooking up to 350 F.

Because it tolerates high temperatures, coconut oil is a great substitute for butter or vegetable oil. I use it to sauté vegetables and even use it to bake muffins, cupcakes and brownies. The resulting baked goods have a special lightness and coconut after-taste.

This jar of happiness has also replaced some of my most beloved beauty products! I apply it on recently shaved skin  to smooth razor bumps. I’ve also been using it as a natural hair masque– just leave it in your hair for 30 minutes and rinse it out in the shower– your strands will be silky and smooth afterwards!

5. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic’s Lip Tar

I don’t know about you but a have a bit of trust issues so lip tints are not my favorite lip product on the market.  Lip Tar is a highly pigmented lipstick with an unparalleled wear time; it does not dry out your lips like usual tints do and the best part is that it wears out E V E N L Y.  It is a product created by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, 100% vegan and cruelty free. Lip Tar comes in clear, matte, metallic and stained gloss and counts with a WIDE variety of colors- meant to be mixed. If you are more of a wild child, it’s the place you will find shades like traffic yellow, aquatic blue, true black and pure white.

6. Winefolly

http://winefolly.com/

For all those collegiettes who’ve always wanted to learn more about wine, but think it may be for snobs, let me tell you it’s definitely NOT. Winefolly.com’s aim is to “simplify wine” and that is precisely what they do with the help of sommelier, Madeline Puckette. Madeline is without a doubt the coolest “professional wine drinker” you’ll probably meet, I assure you you’ll want to hang out with her and become a “professional wine drinker” too. The website contains a variety of videos, articles, and educational courses all wine-related; the staff is extremely relatable and makes learning about the “nectar of the gods” really enjoyable. Make sure to bookmark it!

9.Aldo Terrycloth Insoles

We all know how painful it can be to break in a new pair of shoes, and the torturous blisters that come along with it. Well, I’m here to tell you that you no longer have to endure the discomfort that can come with a new pair of shoes. I bought these terrycloth insoles from Aldo because a friend recommended them after hearing me complain endlessly about my oh-so-cute, but incredibly tormenting new flats. I was a bit skeptical at first, having tried out many other insoles: gel, cloth, etcetera. My verdict: these.are.the.bomb. They adjust to the form of your shoe, are perfectly comfortable and even keep your feet fresh so you don’t have to worry about smelly feet! What more could a shoe-a-holic ask for?

10. NARS – Body Glow

This stuff is like crack. It smells like coconut sex, gives a very natural golden glow golden regardless of skin tone, and always leaves me feeling like I might get lucky. Insider tip: Apply right after a hot a shower and give it a few minutes to sink in. I promise you’ll glow like J.Lo after a weekend in St. Tropez.

11. Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead

“A truly equal world would be one where women ran half our countries and companies and men ran half our homes.” –Sheryl Sandberg

Lean In, bestseller and first book of businesswoman Sheryl Sandberg, aims to exhort and motivate us women to “lean in” toward our ambitions. In the book, the author states that as women we should unite as a community in order to break internal barriers that are restraining us from success. These are the same barriers that we have created and are keeping us from exerting more power in our society. I highly recommend this ambitious book, which will definitely motivate all of you collegiettes personally and professionally. We should all aim to have power and not resign ourselves with what has already been written in history!

12. Baby Lips

Are you suffering lately of dry lips? The lip balm called Baby Lips by Maybelline will be just the right one for you! They come in a variety of colors and scents fit just right for you personality. They are fantastic because they hydrate your lips at the best and when you have it on it looks like if you have lip-gloss instead of a lip balm. Personally, what I like best of it, is the variety they come in; you can get to the point when you want to buy them all.
