Some say that art manifests in many ways and different shapes. When it comes to decorating your room, you want something that resonates with you, and that matches your aesthetic. When thinking about a piece of art, one would probably imagine a big canvas filled with different shapes and colors. Maybe something with flowers or a replica of a famous painting. But what if this isn’t your vibe?

The artist adapts to the time at which they live. Nowadays, rooms are smaller, apartments tend to have less space, or the walls of your place are not meant to be decorated with something so big as a canvas. This is essentially why glass paintings’ demand has been on the rise during recent years. Glass painting became very popular on TikTok, especially when people started painting their favorite anime characters and using them for decorating their room or office spaces.

Glass paintings look pretty simple, even though they can be surprisingly intricate to create. Artists spend hours between finding the perfect shades and waiting for the paint to dry, so they can continue with another coat. It takes a lot of patience and many materials to make this innovative art piece take form and life. Some artists even add a coat of resin so it can last more.

Whether it’s your favorite anime character or your preferred scene from a series, glass paintings are a great choice to decorate your space. They’re generally not that big, which is why you can put them in a frame and hang them from a wall, or simply display them on your desk. These artworks can be colorful or black and white, and they don’t necessarily need to be anime related. Some artists add glitter, others add flowers, and some just prefer their paintings to be more minimalist. At the end of the day, each artist  includes their unique touch to their artwork, adding some much appreciated individuality.

Each artist chooses how to decorate the background. Some leave it plain to highlight the painting, others choose to paint them in pastel colors, and some even glue images to their paintings, creating a collage for the background. I’ve even seen artists adding plastic flowers to their creations! The possibilities are legitimately endless.

If you want to carry your piece of art with you, there are artists who paint phone cases just like on a glass, and some who also use this technique to customize acrylic keychains. Purchasing and promoting creations such as these is a great way to support your favorite local artists and share their talent with your friends and family.

For the book lovers, there are also artists who paint acrylic bookmarks一yet another great way of displaying art!

If you want to support artists and get your hands on a glass paint piece, you can check Etsy, TikTok, or Instagram. There are lots of local artists who have open commissions and are willing to make you an art piece adjusted to your taste!
