1. HCUPR: What are your career aspirations?

Fernando: I want to become a Certified Public Accountant.

2. HCUPR: What are your major interests and hobbies?

Fernando: I’m both an active and relaxed guy. I was a basketball and volleyball player and swimmer in high school. As for my spare time, I like listening to music and going to the beach.

3. HCUPR: How would you describe yourself?

Fernando: When you meet me, I might be a bit shy, but then I am super outgoing. I like to think of myself as being funny and chill.

4. HCUPR: What is the one quality you admire in a man?

Fernando: Courage.

5. HCUPR: Describe your perfect girl.

Fernando: Nice smile, long hair, pretty eyes, outgoing, comfortable with herself, good sense of humor, not dramatic, someone that can be one of the guys sometimes.

6. HCUPR: What are your musical tastes?

Fernando: Hip-hop, jazz, deep house, techno, reggae, old rock, classical music (for studying), Vosa Nova, and a bit of country.

Fernando: Preppy meets surfer.

Raised surrounded by style and glamour coming from my mother, I was bound to become a fashion writer. Since I was fifteen, I have been working at fashion magazines and websites as training to achieve my ultimate goal: fashion editor. To me, style is not only about trends and pretty dresses; it is a form of expression and creativity that tells the world who you are in a split second (so be careful what you wear!). Currently, I am a sophomore at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus where I major in journalism. My dream is to move to New York City to pursue a career in fashion publishing. Suzzette Martinez Malavet is a senior at the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras studying Information and Journalism. She loves photography, shoes, fashion, social media, traveling and exercising outdoors. She has interned at the Capitol of Puerto Rico, Diálogo Digital, Wapa TV, Telemundo Network, U.S. Census Bureau's Center for New Media and Promotions and the Corporate Communication/Sales & Marketing Department of the U.S. Mint in DC, but her proudest accomplishment was in Spring 2013 when she founded the very first HC Chapter in Puerto Rico, Her Campus UPR.
