Name: Inés Brull Rios
Age: 17
Major: Nutrition
1. HCUPR: When did you begin at the company?
IB: This year, August 6th to be exact.
2. HCUPR: When did you start dancing ballet?
IB: In 2000, when I was just a 4-year-old.
3. HCUPR: What is your favorite ballet and why?
IB: My favorite ballet is Don Quixote. I love the theme and the different variations. It’s very vibrant and passionate.
4. HCUPR: What has been the most rewarding experience at the company?
IB: I haven’t been that much time as part of the company but I have danced many times with them and it’s rewarding because you learn much more than just the steps. You learn how to project your feelings and the story to the audience. Also, you learn other kinds of dance like for example, modern or contemporary dance.
5. HCUPR: What advice would you give to future ballerinas?
IB: To set a goal and work for it as hard as you can. To never give up, no matter how hard it gets. It’s very rewarding working hard for those few hours on the stage because when you hear the applause of the audience you realize it’s all worth it.
6. HCUPR: How do you balance your work as a ballet dancer with school?
IB: It’s hard but it’s not impossible. I just try to be organized. When I’m in school, I concentrate in school; but as soon as I go to Ballet Concierto, I forget about everything and only focus on dancing.
7. HCUPR: What are your career aspirations?
IB: I aspire to become a professional dancer and become a soloist or even a principal ballerina. But, I am also studying, so that when I retire from dancing, I can work as a nutricionist for athletes and dancers.
8. HCUPR: Describe your dancing in one word.
IB: Passionate.
