7 Puerto Rican Haunted Attractions to Check Out this Halloween Season

As college students, we’re always trying to find ways to entertain ourselves in our free time. Luckily, Puerto Rico always has an activity going on in every corner. In the spirit of Halloween and its spookiness, here are seven local haunted attractions you can check out. 

1. Asylum Horror Nights

The Army Military Base will be hosting an interactive asylum-themed horror maze experience. It’s located in their Community Club at Fort Buchanan in Guaynabo, and it will be open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays from September 30 to October 28. The activity will start at 6:30 p.m., ending at 11:30 p.m. You can purchase your tickets on-site, but if you’d rather plan ahead, you can buy them on their website. If you’re wondering about fees, each ticket costs $25, but you can find other offers online.

2. Insane Haunted House 

Telemundo will be sponsoring a witch-themed haunted house that will most likely have students from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus participating because they had audition posters around campus. Here’s an opportunity to have fun and support your fellow gallitos and jerezanas at the same time! Insane Haunted House is located at the Bayamón Shopping Center and will be open everyday between 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. from September 15 until November 5. You can get your tickets on the Ticketera website. Each one costs $25 without fees, and you can upgrade your ticket to a fast pass for an additional $15 dollars.

3. VR Escape Room

This escape room can be enjoyed by itself or combined with the Insane Haunted House. You can also choose between the following themes: Manor of Escape or Hospital of Horror. It’s located at the Bayamón Shopping Center and will be available every day from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from September 15 until November 5. The tickets must be bought online through Ticketera. If you just want to experience the VR escape rooms, you can purchase a ticket for $40, but if you’d like to visit the Haunted House as well, you can pay for a $55 bundle ticket instead.  You can also check out some other offers and discounts on their webpage.

4. I Dare U Haunted Attraction

The I Dare U Haunted Attraction contains various spooky activities related to witches, villages, and the living dead. Additionally, it includes themed marketplaces, food trucks, live music, and an amusement park. This event will take place in La Antigua Guardia Nacional at Plaza Las Américas and will be available every day starting at 6-7 p.m. from October 6 to November 4. The ticket must be bought online through Ticketera. Each ticket costs $32.34 (fees included), but there are other payment options available. 5. Soul Screams Haunted House

Party City presents Soul Screams Haunted House, a project they’ve been working on for 10 years now. It takes a twist on what a haunted house is, and converts it into a tour across a haunted forest. The experience consists of 40 to 50 minutes of sheer terror and introduces you to different stages, like: Deadly Mutants, FrikSho! and The Witches Ritual II. This event takes place in El Jardín Botánico y Cultural in Caguas and will be available only on the weekends from September 30 until November 5. The activity usually starts at 7:00 p.m., but the time may vary depending on the dates available online. The tickets are found on Ticketera at $30 per person. However, the website also promotes fast passes and discounts for parties of 20 or more people.

6. The Haunted Manor 

Presented by Vazvil Enterprise and promoted by Chente Ydrach, the Haunted Manor is an experience to enjoy with friends or family at a castle with historical value and ghostly secrets for up to 30-35 minutes. If you’re up for the drive, this haunted attraction takes place in Castillo Serrallés in Ponce from Thursday to Sunday from October 21 to October 29. It’ll start around 6:30 p.m. up until 10:30 p.m. You can purchase tickets in Ticketera, but keep in mind that these are limited. Each ticket costs $25, but you can check out available deals online.

7. House of Phobia

Party City will be hosting its most popular Halloween event in Puerto Rico. This year, they’ll be delving into European, Asian, and Latin American Culture by bringing their scary legends into reality. It will be located at the Mall of San Juan and will be active during all four October weekends. Fridays are from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. while Saturdays and Sundays are from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. They’ll also be open on Halloween with a different schedule. Each ticket costs $25 per person, although they have discounts for bigger groups. The tickets can be bought at pr.ticket.
