Why September through December is Really THAT Girl

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNT chapter.

As a fellow summer baby, the excuse that fall and winter are my favorite seasons because I have a birthday during these months is INVALID. The months that are in between these seasons are September through December, and I love them for so many reasons. From the seasonal drinks at Starbucks, to the superior wardrobe, and last but not least THE HOLIDAYS!

Below I am going to talk about some of the reasons why each month is unique in its own way and why all of them are really that girl.

September

Alas the end of summer season and the start of a new one. WE LOVE THAT. So what if school happens during September?

  1. Although it is still hot, it is not hotter than the other summer months. This is the month where temperatures start fluctuating; some days the weather is 90 degrees, but other days it’s 75 degrees with some breeze and let me tell you, those days smack!

  2. Speaking of, this month is also when October decorations start making their way to the store, so if you’re an early bird, you can get a headstart in decorating your house for the holidays of October AND November, say what! You heard it here folks.

  3. If you’re a cute outfit junkie and a Pinterest lover, welcome to the club. Here are some cute outfit inspirations that would look dope on anyone, especially in September: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/402720391672243854/ , and https://www.pinterest.com/pin/402720391669167300/ .

  4. Starbucks drink:  Pumpkin Spice Latte

  5. Song: September by Earth, Wind & Fire. Classic.

October

SPOOKY SZN. That’s it. That’s the tweet.

  1. Now that it’s October, the decorations that you bought can be put to good use! Decorations can range from simple pumpkin table tops to a whole La Llorona in the middle of your living room to spook everyone that you live with.

  2. There are so many things to do during October like Haunted Houses, Fright Fests, Movie Festivals, and if you’re not into all the spooky mess, Pumpkin Patches to take pictures in with your group of friends. Not to forget All Hallows Eve. I’m scared!

  3. Let’s switch things up a bit and do some cute but spooky outfits for the purpose of October, and yes, from Pinterest. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/314618723966147883/ ,  and https://www.pinterest.com/pin/800163058775957212/

  5. Song: Mad Hatter by Melanie Martinez. Genuinely spooky.

November

To be honest, this might be my favorite month.

  1. To begin with, the weather, is finally COLD. As a college student, we have been waiting for this weather since August. I want to say that it’s cold but I am not going to complain because it’s colder in December.

  2. Thanksgiving might be the most wholesome holiday of them all. Despite the fact that the background of this holiday is twisted, in modern day America it is all about giving thanks for everything good about your life and time that you get to spend with your family and friends eating all types of food. Food is the highlight of my life!

  3. Friendsgiving! Hey, that’s fun. A night filled with a potluck and games that everyone can enjoy.

  4. Cute outfit inspirations for the Friendsgiving your going to during this month! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/402720391669166843/ , and https://www.pinterest.com/pin/402720391669146538/

  6. Song: Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood. 2013 vibes.

December

It’s December? Already?

  1. One of the best things about December might be the movie collections. The Nightmare Before Christmas, spooky with a little Christmas action? Yes, please.

  2. The long school break. 2 weeks for K-12 but if you’re in college, a whole month, spectacular!

  3. Family time is always a good time, no matter how much they get on your nerves.
