Jasmine Young: Her Campus UNT Special Events Executive

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNT chapter.

We caught up with our amazing Special Events Executive, Jasmine Young for a quick chat about her life and her experience with Her Campus this semester.

What motivated you to get involved with Her Campus?

I wanted to be involved in Her Campus, because it seemed like a great opportunity to connect with collegiates like myself and develop my event planning skills.

How does planning events for Her Campus fit in with your future goals?

Planning events for Her campus is the beginning as far as event planning for me. Through Her campus I’ve been able to practice my event planning skills and develop stronger leadership skills. I’m very grateful and happy that I have her campus as a foundation and you guys trust in me while I am still developing. I plan to use my experiences from her campus to pursue event planning after college.

Describe yourself in three words:

Highly organized, realistic , social

Event planning requires a lot of patience. How do you stay calm in stressful situations?

Stressful situations keep the brain alert! So i just stay alert, handle any situation as they arise, and keep a positive attitude overall because that will manifest over the entire event no matter what happens.

What are your summer plans?

Summer sixteen! I plan on working a lot and completing summer school to stay on track for graduation in 2018.

What do you hope to achieve before you leave UNT?

Before I graduate, I hope to join more organizations, take on more leadership roles, mentor, make the deans list, and intern with a company I can work for after graduation! Most of all, have fun.
