Folxlórico – More Than Just an Org on Campus.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNT chapter.

Folklórico is a Mexican ballet-style dance that includes vibrant colored dresses and quick feet, fast hands and skirt twirls, and a tie to your cultural roots.

However, on UNT’s campus, it is more than just a dance club, and it goes beyond the Mexican culture. Folxlórico has been on campus for almost two years, and has made its mark around the community.

From performances on and off campus, to volunteering with a local elementary school to teach the kids dances, they strive to provide a home-like environment to its members, and treat it more like family than friends. This organization is open to people of all backgrounds, judgement-free and open armed, to build a community that appreciates the culture, and promotes excitement, friendship, and fun.
