Flu season is typically from December to February, but can sometimes last until May (I wish someone had told me this). Just when you think you’re safe, BOOM. Being sick as a working college student can really screw up your schedule. We are all on the go constantly, and sometimes our health can take a backseat.

I will still go to work or class as long as I don’t have a fever, and I’ll just keep going until I finally get a day where I have nothing to do and my body finally gets to rest. That’s usually fine with colds and whatnot since we’re young and our bodies can handle it, but with the flu, absolutely not. It puts the healthiest of us on our butts. I spent this past weekend sick out of my mind – I had a fever, I could barely move because my body was so sore and I don’t think I ate for 3 days.

I had to miss work and class this past Monday and was sent home early from work Tuesday. Which puts me behind on my work and my school work. Now the rest of the week is just catch up.

This is just a friendly reminder that flu season hasn’t passed yet, so if you didn’t get a flu shot be careful, and be sure to get one next year.

You’d be surprised what you can accomplish with a little bit of effort.
