Five Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day With Your BFF

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNT chapter.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and if you’re like me, you don’t have a significant other to celebrate Valentine’s Day with. However, you don’t need a significant other to have an amazing day. All you need is your best friend and some great plans. So ask your BFF to be a your galentine, and celebrate one of the these ways!!

1. Stay in and watch rom-coms: Grab your bestie and some popcorn, and host a movie night. Watch your favorite romantic comedies and get in your feels. Some of my favorite are 13 Going On 30, Valentine’s Day, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, and 27 Dresses. To make it even better, tie in a spa day. Put on your favorite face masks, paint your nails and maybe do a hair mask.

2. Go on a dinner date: Dress up like you’re going on a real date, and go to a fancy restaurant with your bestie. If you’re on a budget, just go to your favorite fast food restaurant. Just make it special!

3. Throw a Galentine’s day party: Throw a Leslie Knope style Galentine’s Day Party. Send out the cutest invitations to your gal pals. Decorate your apartment with a cute photo booth station. Grab some cute V-day themed snacks, and have a cute little party with your closest girlfriends.

4. Organize a paint and sip!: Painting with a Twist can be pretty expensive, and I wouldn’t be surprised if prices went up on holidays. To save some cash, pick a couple bottles of wine, some paint brushes and cheap paint supplies. Have your own paint and sip event at your house for much cheaper than going to a Painting With a Twist. You can do it in your sweatpants and no one will judge you!

5. Go to brunch: If dinner dates are not your thing, the next best meal of the day is brunch! Grab your best friends, dress up and go eat brunch at the most Instagram worthy spot in the area! Find a place with bottomless mimosas and just toast to having the best girlfriends.

Valentine’s Day can be such a blast with your best friend with the right plans. Take a couple of these ideas and plan out the best day for you and your gal pals, or do all of them! I hope everyone has a great Valentine’s Day (or Galentine’s Day).
