Are You Ready for a Flower Attack?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNI chapter.

Spring is coming and almost all stores are starting to put up flower motives on their products. Having flower motive dresses doesn’t always mean looking girly and stuff. There are a lot of ways on how to combine flowers to look edgy, vintage, or even boyish if you wish.

For an edgier look, what you need to do is to make it extreme. Take your flower dress and combine it with the complete opposite— a leather jacket or military boots. Look for bronze rings and edgy sunnies. Play with the color brown, black, and military green.

When I mentioned guys-wannabe, it doesn’t mean that you need to be a guy. But, bring the attitude, and of course the style. There is nothing wrong with trying to pair up that kind of hat, sneakers, and formal or cargo pants. Try to look for a floral patterned top and match it up with light denim or white blouses. Play more with blue, green, or black colors for more solid style.

Play with it and bring the spring out. Vintage is back and it’s great that these days we have a lot of choices to play with. Nude colors and light pink are two fantastic colors to work with. Make your dress stand out by adding a cute styled coat with bright color and pink accessories. Wear platform heels with bows or even flats! Wear these proudly, cutely, and sweetly.

I hope this post can help guide you when you’re working with the flower dresses in your closet.  If you don’t have one, you can always look it up in some online stores such as Forever 21 and Top Shop, who just came up with the ‘spring’ feeling outfits. Happy Floral Spring!
