Why This Is The Best And Worst Time Of The Year

This time of the year can be exciting, yet extremely overwhelming for us college students for several reasons;

Thanksgiving! Who doesn’t love that holiday. It is the first time students are able to go home for an extended period of time since they have been at school. It is a much needed, relaxing break. We get to see our family and reunite with friends. Plus there’s delicious food that college students crave after eating at the dining hall for almost 3 months.

The problem with Thanksgiving break is the fact that it is the biggest tease. We only get to go home for 5 days… then back to the stressful lives we have at school. It is great to see friends and family, but it flies by and students are nowhere near ready to head back to school.

On the bright side, students have Christmas break to look forward to! Just in a matter of 3 weeks we’ll be back home celebrating one of the best holidays and spending quality time with the people we love for a month.

But there’s a catch… those quick 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks could possibly be the most difficult, stressful,  and busy weeks of the year. That is what makes coming back to school after Thanksgiving so dreadful. The amount of work that students have is crazy. Not to mention we have finals, which are hard enough.

There is a lot of cramming and late nights that occur during this time of the year, but it will all be worth it once we’re on our way home for a long, stress-free break. First semester is finally over and we get to go home, relax, and catch up with the people we love and miss so much.
