How did you get involved with Stella & Dot/Kate Parker Designs?

I got involved with Stella & Dot 3 years ago. I went to a Stella & Dot trunk show at my friend’s house and fell in love with the jewelry and wanted everything. I had been making and selling my own jewelry for a few years so I thought becoming a stylist would be the perfect opportunity for me.

I got involved in wedding planning and design after meeting the owner, Kate Parker through a different job. We were both selling Stella & Dot jewelry and she was randomly chosen to be my sponsor. After she got to know me she asked me if I wanted to come work for her!

What are your job titles?

I am a Senior Stylist at Stella & Dot.

At Kate Parker Designs, I do everything from meeting with clients to plan their weddings, to making their flower arrangements and bouquets, to setting up their entire event and then breaking the whole thing down.

How long have you been a part of Stella & Dot/Kate Parker Designs?

I have been selling Stella & Dot jewelry for just over 3 years now.

I have been working for Kate Parker Designs for 3 years.

Why did you become involved with each?

My love for jewelry definitely attracted me to becoming a stylist, and after finding out how easy it was to make money doing it, and how much fun it was definitely pushed me to sign up.

When Kate first asked me to work for her I thought I would just be helping her set up a wedding or two and that would be it. I was excited because it seemed like a really cool job. Turns out I actually fell in love with it and I am in my third year there with a full time job waiting for me when I graduate.

Do you intend to continue this into your profession in the future?

As for now I will continue to be a stylist just because it is so flexible and fun. I am busy with school and another job but whenever I need some extra money it’s an easy way to earn it.

However, Kate Parker Designs is definitely the perfect job for me when I graduate and I look forward to becoming full time. I’m not sure whether or not this will be my career but it’s a great experience for now.

What is the best part of what you do?

The best part about Stella & Dot is all the perks that come with it. It is totally flexible to my schedule, plus I get tons of free jewelry!

The best part of Kate Parker Designs is being able to be creative and make these incredible events come about from nothing. Its also amazing to see how happy our clients are with our work and knowing that we were such a big part of one the biggest days of their lives.

How can we become involved?!

Anyone can become a Stella & Dot stylist and I am always looking to grow my team so if anyone is interested you can message me on facebook or email me. Another way to get involved is to host a trunk show- all you have to do is have some friends over and you can earn tons of free jewelry!

We are hoping to expand to hiring interns within the next year so if wedding planning and designing is interesting to you definitely let us know!
