Whenever you ask someone their favorite season, their answers are usually, “Summer, ‘cause I love the beach,” or “Winter because I love to ski!”. There is also the classic response of, “Fall is my favorite season, between the pumpkin spice, boots, and hoodies, it’s just the best”. Although I love all of the seasons, I am here to defend my girl Spring! The mud and rain sometimes give spring a bad name, but I’m here to show you why spring is honestly elite. I even want a spring wedding, because of everything the season represents.

  • Goodbye Seasonal Depression

SAD, or Seasonal Affective Disorder, is also called Seasonal Depression. In the winter, most of us are inside and the sun is not out often enough for us to get proper Vitamin D exposure. Mood changes and fatigue are two of the biggest symptoms of low Vitamin D levels. Spring starts by making the days longer with more sunlight, which is good for the soul!

  • Spring Cleaning

Cleaning is not usually my cup of tea, but spring is such a good time to get organized. Second semester has really started to ramp up, and it’s nice coming home to a clean space. Throw on some jams and get to work!

  • Opportunity for rebirth and growth

Spring is a good time to start daily affirmations and manifestations. Spiritually, spring represents a time of rebirth. I always use the beginning of spring as a checkpoint in terms of working to be the best version of myself. It is a good time to begin small changes that can bring about more positive routines and habits.

  • Gardening

Spring is the time to get your hands dirty! Planting flowers and vegetables in a garden or even potting plants is a good way to hold yourself accountable and stay grounded. Taking care of a plant is something that requires nurturing and discipline, plus it’s fulfilling. I love being a plant mom!

  • Exercise Outside of a Gym

I know for a fact I’m not the only one that struggles to get motivated when it comes to going to the gym when it’s cold out. Making plans with friends to exercise in the sun makes healthy habits so much less of a chore! Hiking, swimming, going for walks or runs, and doing yoga outside are some fun options for getting a workout in with some more fun and variety.

  • Darties

Right now, darties are on pause. But, hopefully, by next spring they will be back in action. Playing outdoor games, hanging out, and taking pictures in the sun with all of your friends is such a fun aspect of the warmer weather.

  • Fresh Air

This one is pretty self-explanatory. I just love the fact that the wind is no longer hurting my face from how cold it is. The air always smells like fresh-cut grass, flower blossoms, or rain. Spring is just so soothing and colorful.

  • Rainy Days

I know the average person is not a huge fan of rainy days; but, let me tell you why I am. Although I don’t like it when it rains often, I think the occasional rainy day is actually good for my own mental health. On rainy days, I try not to put as much pressure on myself as I usually do. I allow myself to take some time and catch up on sleep, cleaning, or self-care.

  • Overall Connection to Nature

The grass is greener, the birds are always singing, all types of flowers are in bloom, and trees and bushes are blossoming. I just feel so peaceful and grateful for the beautiful weather and the plants and animals that are out and about. Spending time outside and in the sun can help you realize how beautiful our world really is.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy spring!
