As my time abroad comes to an end, I’ve been reflecting on the things I’ve done, the people I’ve met and the amazing experiences that I’ve had. It is truly a bittersweet feeling as I am looking forward to going home, getting back to my routine, and having some normalcy but also sad as I say goodbye to friends that have become family and the place that I’ve called home for the last four months. Traveling has been a huge part of this experience and these are my top 5 places that I’ve traveled to the past few months.

  1. Morocco, Africa

Morocco was truly the most amazing experience that I had in terms of traveling while abroad. The change of culture was so interesting to witness. When we were there we stayed in Fes and took a 5 hour car ride to the Sahara Desert to stay in a camp there and ride camels. We truly had the best time and met some amazing people along the way.

  1. Positano, Amalfi Coast, Italy

Positano has always been something that I’ve dreamed of experiencing. Although it was very confusing and slightly difficult to get there, once we arrived we had the most amazing time. The town and energy was unlike any other. We laid on the beach for one whole day listening to music and eating sandwiches. The food was also exquisite and this trip was definitely something that I’ll always remember.

  1. Paris, France

Although people definitely overhype Paris, I had a blast here. We didn’t luck out with the best weather and the French Air Strike canceled our flights, but we still made the best of our time there. My favorite thing that we did there was go on a river cruise down the Seine, and at the end of the cruise we got to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle. I also really enjoyed going to the Louvre Museum and seeing the Mona Lisa in person.

  1. Bern, Switzerland

I didn’t think I would love Switzerland as much as I did before going but it ended up being one of my favorite places. My aunt lives just outside of Bern so I was able to stay with her which made the trip super special. We took a train through the Swiss Alps and tried different traditional Swiss food. We also went to a roller skating disco and ate delicious crepes. It was definitely a trip that I loved way more than I expected.

  1. Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon was one of our first trips and one of the few trips that we were able to do as a huge group. We went in early February and the weather was amazing! We ate delicious food and spent time near the water. The Belem Tower was my favorite tourist attraction. The energy of the area was amazing. It was extra special because we were able to be all together and make memories as a group. I will always remember it!
