Fading your Summer Favorites into Winter Style

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

My most recent obsession is mixing neutrals. European style is a lot darker than most American fashion: and I mean darker is both senses of the word. Not only are the shades a bit tenebrous, but also the feel of the fashion is more avant-garde.  I prefer it in most ways this time of the year. A lighter tan and black is one of my favorite combinations. It makes me feel slightly Meg Ryan like.

Continuing on, it has come to my attention that many females physically put their shorts away once the fall and winter weather hits. I have to say I find it a bit preposterous. I like a good pair of cut-off shorts in the summer sun as much as anyone, but my favorite time of year for shorts is most definitely the colder weather. Find yourself a pair of baggier high-waisters, pair them with a thicker pair of tights, a cable knit sweater, and your favorite circular scarf. It suffices for a simple way to blend-in while still looking chic.
