Summer is always the time for me to catch up on all of the books I’ve been meaning to read when it escapes me during the semesters at school. There have been some great books to come out recently that I can’t wait to read after finals end. Here are some popular recommendations I’ve seen recently, as well as some great books I’ve read that I would recommend to everyone.

Happy Place by Emily Henry

I have read almost all of Emily Henry’s books and have loved all of them so far. This one entails a romance story that begins with a breakup. I have heard great things about this book so far, and can’t wait to read it!

Things we Hide from the Light by Lucy Score

This is another I’ve been dying to read! I’ve heard that is a page-turning suspenseful romance. I have Things we Never Got Over, the first book in this series currently sitting on my shelf waiting to be read, and can’t wait to get into a good series for the summer.

The Collected Regrets of Clover by Mikki Brammer

This book is expected to come out next week, and I cannot wait to read it. It combines a dark aspect of death and dying with the prospect of a new relationship blooming, and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together.

What Lies in the Woods by Kate Alice Marshall

I finished this book in one day. It is a mystery about a group of friends who experienced something tragic when they were younger, and now they discover the truth about what happened. This book is not predictable, and I didn’t know what to expect up until the last page.

A court of thorns and roses by Sarah j. maas

This book got me back into reading fantasy (which I haven’t really read since The Hunger Games) and it is incredible. It follows a young woman who is forced to go into the magical world that is essentially next door to her her whole life, and discovers something evil that is going on there that will doom all of its creatures. This is a fairly long series that is still in the works, but it is captivating and you’ll want to keep reading.

Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow by gabrielle zevin

This book was one of my favorites of 2022. I couldn’t stop reading this heart wrenching story about childhood friends that separate, come back together again to create something amazing, and their tumultuous journey. Buckle in for a good cry while you’re reading this one!

I hope you all find a new book to pick up from this list for the summer! Happy summer reading!
