Eating healthy is one of the hardest things to do. We’re already stressed out with school and at the end of our long days the last thing we want to do is make something nutritious. Thankfully, doing one or all of these five tips could help take the stress out of eating healthy and make it more of a lifestyle than a chore.
1. Make a list
When we go shopping and don’t have a list we sometimes walk aimlessly up and down the isles and just grab things that we don’t need. If you make a list of healthy items you’re more likely to stick to it. Plus, if you don’t buy crappy food you won’t eat crappy food.
2. Plan your meals
If you know what you’re going to make when you get home then you’re more likely to eat something nutritious.
3. Meel Prep
Buy a ton of fruits and veggies and prepare meals that are easy to grab and go if you need to. I’ve been doing this a lot this semester, my fridge is full of pre made salads in fruit cups for me to just grab and go. It’s also less expensive to make things on our own verses buying a salad everyday.
4. Don’t mindlessly eat
It’s so easy to eat an entire bag of chips while we’re studying but if you can replace mindlessly eating with drinking water or tea it’ll help you in the long run.
5. Don’t punish yourself if you eat badly
We all try to eat healthy but just because you drunkly get DHOP doesn’t mean you should give up all together. It was one (maybe two or three) piece of pizza, don’t sweat the small stuff.
