2024: A Year Of Growth

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

As we begin the spring semester and the new year, it’s a perfect time to set your goals and figure out what you want to focus on this semester and this year.

Take the time to reflect on last year: what worked, what didn’t work and what do you want to try to improve on? Other questions you can focus on are: What brings you joy? What do you want to achieve?

One key aspect of personal growth is setting realistic goals. Instead of overwhelming ourselves through the laundry list of resolutions, it tends to be more effective to focus on a few objectives.

By surrounding yourself with positivity and inspiration, you can learn to step out of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself to try new things, whether it’s learning a new skill, picking up a hobby or meeting new people. Some hobbies you can begin to try are reading, drawing or coloring, going to the gym or journaling. Growth often happens when you push yourself to try new things.

I personally am trying to focus on myself and doing things that will benefit me. Sticking to going to the gym, learning to let things go and knowing that it’s okay to grow out of people. Putting my happiness first is my goal this year.

It is also important to remember that these things take time and to not be so hard on yourself if you have an off day (or two).
