The 14 Stages You Go Through on Black Friday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Black Friday, the day crowds of people line up outside stores before the crack of dawn and literally (and physically) fight each other for the best deal, is nearing. Oh and don’t worry, this is the day AFTER we all celebrate how much we’re already thankful for. There are those who avoid the craziness that Black Friday brings and there are those that know every single deal at every single store in the surrounding area.

For those that decide to brave the crowd this year and save a little bit of money, here are the 14 stages you’ll encounter on your Black Friday:

You decide to go Black Friday shopping because you need to save any money you can on Christmas presents and you can’t remember the last time this wasn’t the soundtrack to your life.

You wake up well before the sun rises and you’re feeling good about the day.

You know it’s going to be totally crazy but you’re secretly wicked excited.

You get to the first store and while waiting in line you pump yourself up.

But then the doors open…

…and you think…

…and you also think…

You follow the crowd (because you have no choice) and you somehow find a carriage and you grab everything you see because you’re not sure what else to do.

You see two people sprinting for the same item and stand there staring at the two of them put up their toughest fight.

Then the same thing happens to you…

…so you tell yourself…

…and then you do this as you walk away.

You’ve decided you’re going to call it a day because you can’t go on anymore.

On your ride back home you question everything you just experienced and vow to never do that to yourself ever again.
