Introducing: Writer Wednesday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNF chapter.

“Happy Wednesday, collegiettes!”

There’s a greeting that you’ll be reading a lot this semester. As writers for Her Campus UNF, there’s so much that we’d like to share with you all, and there seems like there aren’t enough posts! So, starting this and next week and continued on every other Wednesday, a HC UNF writer will share with you a week’s worth of their favorite things. So, look forward to music playlists, outfit ideas, news articles, and whatever else caught the attention of one of our HC UNF writers.

Up for the first Writer Wednesday is our Campus Correspondent, Maya.

I don’t know about you, but I am practically buzzing to be back on campus. (Well, seeing as I work here, it’s not like I actually left campus, but you know what I mean.) Fall is not only my favorite season, but my favorite semester. Everything seems to flow in the fall.

Since classes are back in session, it’s time to revamp my study playlist. That, for me, means more chill songs that can act as background music, which helps me focus on whatever task I have in front me.I’m totally lucky, because just last week, the artist The Weeknd released his latest album, “Beauty Behind the Madness.”

If you’ve heard anything by The Weeknd, you’ll know that his music is kind of soft, but so powerful an easy to listen to — aka, the perfect background to go with a study sesh. So far, my favs have been “Shameless,” “Angel,” and of course, “The Hills.”

You can listen to the whole album here on Spotify

Apart from school, I somehow manage to find time for leisure reading. So, this week, you may find me reading Padget Powell’s The Interrogative Mood. It’s a novel that is nothing but questions, and I’m feeling it.

Once I’m done with Powell’s novel, I’ll be making my way through the 9 Books by Strong Women that need a definite read, starting with #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso, which has been on my wish list for some time now.

Last thing—I’ve been known to be a bit of a stationary junkie, and I’m way too excited over the Ban.do planner that I got for the upcoming semester.

They’re so bright and cute, it almost take the pain out of writing in dates for midterms and finals.

Almost.

That’s it for this week! But, before you go, we’d love to know what kind of music keeps you focused during study sessions? Let us know in the comments here and on Facebook!

Have fun, collegiettes, and welcome back to campus!

My name is Maya Dartiguenave, and I am a senior at the University of North Florida. I'm a communications major, with a focus in public relations. Reading, writing, anything to do with words is what holds my true interest, which is why I'm so happy to be a part of Her Campus! I'm so excited to have started UNF's chapter of Her Campus! While I claim to be a Florida girl for now, my heart belongs to Philadelphia, always. (Go, Eagles!) I hope to move away from Florida after graduation, work my way through grad school, and begin my career in publishing. The future is definitely going to be an adventure, and I can't wait for it!
