Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and if you are worried about getting a boy to take you on a date, don’t. I am huge believer that we are all capable of creating our own happiness, but that’s a whole different conversation that we can have another time. Today, I want to focus on YOU! I’m here to help you not only plan a fantastic Valentine’s Day, but give you 4 reasons as to why you are doing just fine without a boyfriend. Keep in mind there are endless reasons as to why you don’t need someone else for your own happiness, but in order to keep it short and sweet, I give you 4 reasons to be cheerful, grateful, and radiant this Valentine’s Day!
Reason #1: You can save money!
While some of your girlfriends are stressing out about what to get to their significant other while being on a budget, you don’t have to worry about spending money at all. Instead of buying someone a box of chocolate and a bear, you can save that money for that cute outfit you have been wanting to get.
Reason #2: You can have a Galentine’s Day!
If you don’t enjoy alone time, celebrate Valentine’s Day with your girlfriends! There is nothing better than spending some quality time with your best friends. If you’re more calm and relaxed, prepare a girl’s night in with your friend and enjoy each other’s company while having some delicious food, movies, and even some wine! If that doesn’t sound fun to you and you are a party girl, get all of your best friends and go out together! No worries, at the end of the night you can all share a large pizza.
Reason #3: You’ll have time to love yourself.
Valentine’s Day is all about spreading love and telling your loved ones how much they mean to you, but you need to learn to love yourself, too. My mom used to always tell me that in order for someone to love you, you need to love yourself. For this specific occasion, I would recommend a spa day for yourself. Take time to relax, take a bath, read your favorite book, or catch up on your favorite TV show. There is absolutely nothing wrong with some “me-time.” Enjoy your own company and give yourself time to do the things you love!
Reason #4: You can kiss puppies!
Yes, you read it right. You can kiss puppies this Valentine’s Day all thanks to UNCW Her Campus! On Thursday, February 11th, Her Campus will be hosting a special Valentine’s Day event for all students, right in front of Randall Library. The event starts at 12 p.m. and ends at 2 p.m. So what are you waiting for? Mark your calendars! Come to our Puppy Kissing Booth to meet some adorable Paws4People puppies and take a cute picture! See, I told you you didn’t need a boyfriend.
