Lillie Herlihy: President of Pre-PA

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCW chapter.

Seahawks, meet this week’s Campus Celeb, Lillie Herlihy! Known to many around the UNCW campus as a leader of her peers, and a devoted student. While pursuing a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, Lillie is also the President of the Pre-PA (Physician Assistant) Club, the Mobile Clinic Officer for Medlife and a volunteer at St. Mary’s Health Clinic. Aside from seeing her volunteering, you may also spot her around campus at various residence halls, for she is a Desk Receptionist for UNCW Housing and Residence Life.

What are your plans for the future?

I hope to attend a PA program after UNCW and become a surgical physician assistant.

What do you think makes a good leader?

A good leader has to be personable so that he/she can be approached by others. Leaders must find that perfect balance of authority, so as to be looked up to by others.

What are your hobbies?

I have been traveling quite a bit lately! I also enjoy crafting and being outdoors.

What is your favorite thing about UNCW?

I love the closeness and the sense of community on UNCW’s campus.

What’s your advice for someone trying to get involved on campus?

My advice would be to join one club or group to start, because it will open doors to other opportunities.  Don’t overwhelm yourself with tons of clubs/groups! Pick one or two that you are passionate about, and devote yourself to those.

How would your friends describe you?

I have a pretty dry sense of humor, and I am actually the quiet one of my friends!
