What are the first thoughts that come through a college student’s mind daily? No, not how our life will be maxed out with stress. The main thing students think about is “what am I going to eat today?”. Often, as students, we don’t have the funds to constantly buy take out. So why not buy all of our food at one time and cook from time to time. This will save money from month to month and even help improve cooking skills. The cost of groceries could range, depending on what a student likes to eat. However, there are some locations in Greensboro that have tons of savings.

  1. Aldi – Aldi is a discount supermarket with no membership needed. There are three locations in Greensboro. If you have a car it’s a quick ride or taking a city bus is acceptable too.

  2. Walmart– Walmart is a retail store, but there is also a Walmart Neighborhood store and a Walmart supermarket in Greensboro. Buying Great Value items, a generic brand, could save money as well. Great Value and name brand are the same just different labels and price.

  3. Food Lion– Food Lion is a well known grocery store in Greensboro. Lately Food Lion has stocked a brand called Cha- Ching and these item are more than savings; they are equally the same as name brand.

  4. Super G Mart– Super G Mart is a large international store in Greensboro. Considering that UNCG is a very diverse campus, Super G is an great store for international students and has a student discount with a student card present.

  5. Compare Foods– Compare Foods is a general grocery store that sells name brand product for a lower price. Shopping here is a sure game changer. Unluckily, there is only one in Greensboro.
