In my previous article last week, I talked about five of my favorite female artists in celebration of Women’s History Month. This week, I will be talking about five more! Hopefully, you will decide to check them out after reading this article. Without further ado, let’s get started.

Allie X

An artist I began listening to last year, Allie X is more on the artsy side. With the vocal range of a soprano, Allie X experiments with synthpop and avant-garde pop, two genres I had not been too familiar with until I discovered her. Personally, what I love most about Allie X is how the bright, airy instrumentals of her songs contrast greatly with the dark subject matter of her lyrics. It’s interesting and really makes you think about what you’re listening to.

If you are looking for an artist on the more experimental side, I would definitely recommend Allie X. Some of my favorite songs from her are “Devil I Know,” “Science” and “Love Me Wrong.”

Doja Cat

One of the biggest artists of the current generation, Doja Cat is a one of a kind performer. Her music videos are unique and captivating, and her live performances are never the same, which is something I really like. While some people may be put off by her blunt, sexual lyrics, I think it’s one of the things that makes her stand out amongst female artists today. It’s nice to see a female artist confident in their sexuality and not afraid to show it.

If you are someone who likes artists who know how to put on a show, I would definitely recommend Doja Cat. Some of my favorite songs from her are “Candy,” “Streets” and “Shine.”

Lady Gaga

I have been a fan of Lady Gaga for as long as I can remember, and I must say, seeing her evolve into the performer she is today has been a delight. Seeing her transition from musical artist to film and television actor with “A Star Is Born” and “American Horror Story” has been fascinating; I never thought I would see her in such a huge film or one of my favorite TV shows. Another thing I love about Lady Gaga is how kind and giving she is. The activism she does is amazing and I am glad such an influential figure as her speaks out about important issues.

If you are looking for an artist who delves into other forms of entertainment and speaks out on important issues, Lady Gaga is the one for you. Some of my favorite songs from her are “Alice,” “Alejandro” and “John Wane.”

BoA

Known as the “Queen of K-Pop,” BoA is one of the most influential artists of South Korea. Beginning her career at the age of thirteen, the singer has released a plethora of studio albums and inspired numerous artists throughout her career. What amazes me about BoA is the impact she has had on the South Korean music industry, especially from a young age all while performing by herself. If it was not for her, Korean artists wouldn’t be able to make a name for themselves in Japan; you definitely cannot deny that type of impact!

If you are someone looking for a well-rounded artist with tons of experience under their belt, or interested in listening to music in another language, I would highly recommend BoA. Some of my favorite songs from her are “Only One,” “Temptations” and “Camo.”

Rihanna

Last but not least, we have Rihanna. While she hasn’t released an album for quite some time, her influence in the entertainment and music industries are undeniable. Since 2017, Rihanna has been taking the fashion industry by storm with her critically acclaimed cosmetics line “Fenty Beauty” and inclusive lingerie brand “Savage X Fenty.” While I am someone who is not particularly interested in fashion, it has been amazing to see Rihanna successfully venture into the world of business.

If you are someone looking for an artist who ventures into other industries and has a hand in their craft, I would definitely recommend Rihanna. Some of my favorite songs from her are “Disturbia,” “Diamonds” and “Needed Me.”

I hope our readers enjoyed learning about the total of ten female artists these past couple of weeks! These artists hold a special place in my heart, and I hope you will check them out sometime. They are all extremely creative women who deserve praise for their talents. Until next time!
