5 Shows You Should Be Streaming

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UK chapter.

It is almost time for Thanksgiving break, so what better time to binge watch a season of a new show. I signed up for the Hulu student account ($4.99 a month) and have really been taking advantage of it. There are some great shows on there and I would like to recommend a few of my favorites:

1. Law and Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders

This “Law and Order” series is based on a real life case. The show follows two brothers, Eric and Lyle as they go on trail. The brothers have been convicted for the murders of their parents. The show focuses on the “why” and the “how” of the murders. The show, although based on a true event, has been altered to add to the show. Even though some of the things said on trial may not be true, the show is still suspenseful and worth the watch.

2.  The Good Place

“The Good Place” stars Kristen Bell and focuses on her new life in the Good Place. Filled with humor and lessons on how to be a good person, the show is a great pick me up. You can watch the entire first season on Netflix and then go over to find the second season on Hulu. Navigate through the Good Place with Kristen Bell, but be ready for the twist and turns that come along with this show.

3. The Good Doctor

Apparently shows that have the word good in them will actually turn out to be good shows. The “Good Doctor” focuses on Shawn who is in his residency preparing to be a surgeon. What makes this show so different from all the other hospital dramas out there is that Shawn has autism. Shawn has a hard time communicating and interacting with patients, but is a brilliant surgeon.

4. The Gifted

If you like superhero shows, this one is for you. Based in the X-Men Universe, “The Gifted” follows a family as they try to escape the FBI with their two mutant kids. There is a lot of attention in the show, but not too much where it gets old fast. The show has really good special effects and the powers the mutants have look extra cool. This show is on Hulu and a new episode is released every Tuesday.

5. Bob’s Burgers

If you are a fan of dry humor, you will probably enjoy “Bob’s Burgers.” Based on a family that owns a sort of success burger restaurant, you will find humor in the daily antics of the Belchers. All of the characters on the show are so different and unique. The show is on it’s eighth season, and you can watch all of the seasons on Hulu.
