What year are you in school and what are you majoring in?
I’m a Sophomore with a double major in psychology and criminology and a minor in Spanish.
What made you interested in all of those subjects?
I didn’t really know I liked psychology till my junior year in high school. I began to realize that I was good at counseling people and listening to their problems. All my friends came to me and I was really proactive in helping them. I was the person people came to for advice.
With criminology, I didn’t realize I loved it until I had an awesome teacher my senior year in high school. Her dad was a CIA agent so she was around it all the time. She was able to make it fun and interesting for us. I don’t understand how everyone’s brain can be made the same way physically but we act and react so differently. It’s uncanny how different people are. No one actually stops and thinks about how we have the same brain and how we all use it differently.
I’ve also liked Spanish since high school. It came easy to me and really made sense. It’s a really popular language to know these days and I thought it would be useful.
What are your goals after you graduate?
I was thinking about getting a doctorate in both degrees, becoming a college professor, or even work in a psych ward. There’s really no ultimate plan right now but I would enjoy all of those things.
What are some of your favorite activities/hobbies?
I like to listen to music, dance, hang out with friends and laugh (laughs).
If your friends could describe you in 3 words, what would they be?
Random, helpful, and humorous.
What quote or sayings do you live your life by on a daily basis?
Just be you because life is too short to be anyone else.
