This week’s Campus Celeb is a 20 year old sophomore, living the life in the city! Read all about Deanna Grazier’s Q&A with HerCampus UIC!

HC:Deanna, tell us a bit about yourself! Where did you go to high school and what helped you determine your major at UIC?
DG:I went to Downers Grove South high school. I always enjoyed and took a lot
of art classes. I particularly liked this class called Basic Design and
Photography. When I decided to go to UIC, I heard it had a great
Graphic Design program and I was sold.

HC: Any plans in the future for internships??
DG: I am looking forward to getting an internship probably next year. I’m openminded, I don’t really have a specific company in mind, I’d be grateful
for any opportunity I can get!

HC: How do you enjoy Chicago, and how has it impacted your career choice?
DG: I don’t think I could picture myself living and going to school in any
other place besides Chicago. I like to take adventures and explore other
neighborhoods and restaurants around the city, and run to the lake when
the weather is nice. There is definitely an advantage to living in the
city because there are so many opportunities and resources in the city
that you can’t find anywhere else.

HC:Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
DG: I’ll have a job and I’d like to travel around the world. Combining both
would be ideal.

HC: Are you involved in any campus activities/organizations? And if so why those?!
DG: I am a member of Phi Sigma Sigma. I joined because I enjoy all the girls’
company and being involved in the campus and community. It’s one of my
favorite decisions I’ve made since being in college!
