8 Life Hacks That Every Girl Should Know

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UIC chapter.

Our daily lives are and can be extremely busy at times, especially when dealing with family, personal stuff, work, school, or even kids, but these life hacks are essentials that every girl must know.

1. Use Nail Polish (Or Glitter) To Identify Keys

Why waste unnecessary time flipping through keys until you find the right one? Color-coding your keys will save you time and would simply be easier for you to know which key belongs to what.

2. Hide Money In An Old Chap Stick Tube

Don’t feel like carrying a purse and wallet? Perfect, grab yourself an old Chap Stick tube and roll up some money to place in the inside. This hack is the perfect way to free up your hands, especially if you’re going to be surrounded by a big crowd.

3. Use A Pencil Case As Storage

Phone charger? Laptop Charger? Headphones? Random Cords? Check! Use your pencil case as storage for your cords so that they don’t get lost and all tangled up in your bag. This is a great way to keep track of your belongings.

4.  Use A Post-it Cleaner

Done with your old post-it note?  Don’t throw it away just yet; use it as a cleaner for your keyboard. It can easily get into the small cracks of the board and get the spots you can’t get.

5. Use A Bread Clip To Fix A Broken Flip Flop

I absolutely hate it when I’m on a vacation, at the bench, or wearing flip-flops just because and they break. I’m sure many of us have experienced something like this, but we are in luck! Save your bread clips and carry them in your purse or wallet so that the next time you are out and your flip flops break use the bread clip to fix them.

6. Use Dryer Sheets To Get Rid Of Deodorant Stains

Got deodorant stains on your favorite item while getting dressed? Don’t worry, you can still wear that clothing item! Grab a dryer sheet and wipe away at the stains.

7. Paint Your Costume Jewelry With Clear Polish

Tired of those nasty green stains?  Paint your costume jewelry or accessories with a coat of clear polish to prevent it from losing its original color.

8. Roll It Instead Of Folding It

Whenever you are packing, whether it’s for a vacation, a weekend at a relative’s house, or whatever, roll your clothes instead of folding them. This will save you room in your suitcase and you will be able to bring even more clothing by simply rolling the clothes up.
