As college students, we are balling on a serious budget. To make matters even more dificult, we are placed in rooms with plain (and even dirty) white walls. These simple, inexpensive DIYs are perfect for your dorm and your wallet.
1. Make your own art. By grabbing a blank piece of paper, you can doodle anything on there with a Sharpie! It makes great wall art. Get extra creative, like this lip print with some different colored lipsticks you have on hand.
2. Use paint chips from the store to create a colorful garland with string. Tutorial here.
3. As campus housing students, we receive free printing. Take advantage of this by finding some free printables online and hanging them on those plain walls! (I frequent searching Pinterest for free printables) Bonus: use inexpensive colored tape to add a pop of color and even a frame.
4. Save those glass bottles you have from drinking Snapple and Tazo tea and decorate them as flower vases. Using acrylic paint (or if you bought decorative tape for the last DIY), you can give these bottles an incredible makeover. Bonus: Stretch your dollar even more and find flowers around campus to throw in your new vase.
5. Add some color to your plain white mugs with this watercolor technique. All you need is a bowl and your favorite nail polish colors. Tutorial here.
