New Girl has so many relatable and realistic characters, you can’t not love them. If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching this show then you are definitely missing out. New Girl follows the lives of Jess and her male roommates and highlights the comical and sweet moments of friendship in adulthood. After many rewatches of the show, I feel that everyone can relate to at least one character very easily. I find much pleasure in assigning myself to various characters and finding my friends in them as well. Here’s how I would sum up each character; maybe you see yourself or a friend in them!

jess

If you see yourself in Jess you are the ultimate people pleaser and avoid conflict at any possible cost. As we see early on, Jess is not afraid to show her emotions. From being a hot mess over her breakup to making up a theme song for herself, Jess expresses herself loud and proud. She’s the ultimate girls’ girl and her love language is definitely quality time. She is the friend that could diy just about anything, and would have the best Pinterest boards for every occasion!

nick

Nick is unapologetically himself and I love him for it. Nick is definitely the person you would want to spend your Lazy Sunday with, or now better referred to as ‘rotting’ with. He is so underrated when it comes to how creative he is in inventing ways to fix things around the apartment and crafting an extremely successful novel series. He has such a natural wittiness about him, he is for sure the joker friend that keeps the group laughing.

schimdt

Schimdt is the go-getter of the group and is always striving to get what he wants. Whether it is beating out coworkers at work, to pining after Cece, when he sets his mind to something he gets it. No matter what setbacks he faces, he always remains confident and that’s why he is such a lovable character. He is the friend who would jump up with you at random karaoke or accompany you in wearing ridiculous outfits out in public. Though his Type A personality gets the best of him sometimes, you can always rely on him to have a plan and for it to go perfectly. He is the host friend that would thrive at putting together any sort of function.

winston

The ultimate wild card friend that always leaves you guessing is the definition of Winston. He’s consistently ready for a good time and would accompany you in just about any task, whether it be mundane or criminal. He is such a lovable character that radiates joy and positivity, I would definitely want him as my wingman to hype me up. Winston is always down for an adventure, even if it has little to no explanation.

cece

Cece is the friend that is not afraid to voice her opinion. If you ever need a wake up call, Cece is your girl. While she may tell you the guy you’re dating needs to be left behind, she will stay by your side to the very end comforting you with all the things. She exudes confidence every time she fills the screen and always puts the boys in their place. She is the friend to call whenever you’re unsure of an outfit, need an Instagram caption, or if you need a new cool restaurant recommendation.

coach

Coach is one of my favorite characters simply because of his unpredictableness. He always brings good times and is the type of friend you know you will have fun with. Coach is sure to make it known when he arrives, and loves to have all eyes on him. Being a personal trainer, I feel that he always knows how to keep the energy up, even if there is no one to back him up. Even though Coach comes off as intense, he has a soft side for his loved ones that makes you love just everything about him!

So, which New Girl character are you?
