I used to be one of those girls who loved her long hair. In high school, my hair was at my waist and I got compliments on it all the time. I chopped off all my hair the summer after senior year (much to aquaintences’ dismay), and I never looked back. Short hair is so much easier to mantain and so much more fun to rock. So if you’re debating a short style, here are some reasons you should cut your hair.

1. People will ask the obvious question, “Did you cut your hair?”

Cutting your hair is instant attention from everyone around you. Get ready for your close up. “Yes! I did cut my hair that’s why it’s shorter!”

2. No more split ends

Split ends are annoying and gross to say the least. Cutting your hair will make your hair healthier and even grow faster. And if you cut your hair short enough and lay off the heating tools you can say goodbye to split ends for a very long time.

3. Winter is the perfect time to do it

If you want to cut your hair you should do it in the winter because it’s cold and you don’t have to tie up your hair as much when you get sweaty.

4. Way less greasy

Short hair doesn’t get in your face! Short hair doesn’t need to be touched every five minutes when it gets out of place! Short hair takes forever to get greasy!

5. Showering takes 2 minutes

Since #4 is a thing, #5 can be a thing. Your showers will be so short and sweet after chopping off your locks. Also, you’ll have to use, like, 1000% less shampoo and conditioner and, not to mention, water in your showers.

6. You don’t have to wake up and style it every day

Short hair allows time for extra sleep. My hair is so short that I couldn’t even curl it if I tried! The most I do to my hair these days is run a brush through it.

7. Anyone can have long hair

I know what you’re thinking, “Anyone can have short hair.” But I really don’t think that’s true. Chopping off your beloved long hair is a crucial step in becoming more you. If you cut off your hair, you no longer can hide behind your hair and people can focus on you. #shorthairforlife
