The Stages of Waiting for Your Pizza to Be Delivered

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

I love pizza. Like, I really love pizza. Just about every time we hang out, my friends and I discuss whether or not we’re going to order pizza, and the answer is always yes. We feel thrilled — until we’re reminded that we must go through the agony of waiting for the pizza to be delivered. This is my (over-dramatic) representation of how it feels during the waiting process.

First, there’s the question of whether or not to order pizza. Then you realize you already knew the answer.

You begin to feel an inexplicable amount of joy as you browse through the menu.

When you realize your friends will outvote you and you have no say in what the toppings will be.

But then you get over yourself and remember you’re just lucky to be ordering pizza.

How much it feels like it costs to have the pizza delivered to the comfort of your home.

But still reveling in the fact that in 45 minutes you’ll get to consume possibly the best food ever.

After half an hour you begin to get antsy and start to ask questions.

You hear a noise outside and then realize what it means.

The pizza is here!

And finally, you accept the fact that it’s okay to consider your relationship with the pizza tracker pretty serious.

I hope that after reading this article I’ve inspired you to order some pizza. I have to say, I’m contemplating it myself. Just make sure you have a distraction while waiting for it!
