Shine Bright with Moisturized Skin

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

No matter what skin type you have, when the mercury dips, your skin needs more moisture. With snow, wind and rain comes tight, red, peeling skin. To keep your skin quenched and healthy, here are some must-have products for your face that will get you through the winter months and beyond.

Face Wash

Why wait for your moisturizer to hydrate your skin when you can start with your cleanser? This face wash is perfect for normal to dry skin and contains essential oils such as Patchouli and Ylang-Ylang. It even comes in a convenient pump.

If your face has already begun to peel, however, use an exfoliating face wash before applying moisturizing products. Otherwise, the hydration won’t seep in deep into the layers of the skin. This daily facial scrub contains tiny microbeads and a rich moisturizer to help improve skin tone, texture and clarity to reveal brighter, more radiant skin.

Moisturizer

Finding the perfect moisturizer sometimes takes a few tries, but with the variety of skin type-specific products on the market, rest assured that there is one out there for you. Neutrogena’s moisturizers are dermatologist-recommended and come in an oil-free version for those of us who need a bit of hydration, but not the shine. The product contains SPF so we don’t have to worry about adding another sunscreen, and the formula also comes in versions for sensitive and combination skin so no one is excluded.

Mask

When your cleanser and regular moisturizer aren’t enough, try a mask. This new formula is perfect for those with combination, dry or sensitive skin since it contains no dyes or fragrances.

Lip Balm

Fruity glosses may smell and taste incredible, but sometimes they can dry out our lips, which isn’t something we want during cuddle weather. The lips have very thin skin, which is why they are prone to chapping. This lip balm contains moisturizing Shea Butter and it tastes just as good as your favorite lip gloss.

Born in New York, she moved to Orlando, Florida with her family 6 years ago and is now residing in Gainesville, Florida, thus experiencing life in both urban and rural areas. When she isn't watching E!, obsessing over Gossip Girl, working part-time at Hollister, singing along to Taylor Swift's songs, shopping, or baking, Karina enjoys journaling, taking photos around campus, and spending time with her friends and family. Because she's interested in fashion, music and journalism, after college Karina hopes to move back to New York City and land a job at a prominent magazine. (Because magazines aren't dead.) ♥
