8 Funny Last-Minute Valentines for Your Special Someone

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

Who doesn’t love a cheesy Valentine’s Day card pun? These Valentine’s Day cards are on the corny side, but they’re generally crowd-pleasers and easy last-minute tokens for your Valentine. Rather than take the easy route and rush to buy a Hallmark card at Publix, get in touch with your crafty side. Go to Michael’s, buy some cardstock paper and letter stickers, and try making some of these hilarious options:

Nothing says “I love you” like a piece of pizza. It’s hard to feel this kind of love for any other type of food. This card also pays tribute to Janis Joplin’s hit, “Piece of My Heart.” Looks like a win-win to me.

For those classic art Valentines, I give you the most hilarious art-themed cards there are. Valentine’s Day cards like this one have been circulating the Twitter-sphere all week. Most of them are pretty raunchy, but this one is witty and appropriate enough to send to anyone.

This one was done for a former flame last Valentine’s Day. It’s the perfect message for the poor soul who doesn’t always get to see you at your best. If you’re a poor college student, make this card, put it in a mason jar, fill it with candy hearts, and you’ve got an adorable (and affordable) gift.

For the ultimate cat lover: If the guy or gal you’re with doesn’t know how much you adore your feline friend, there may be a bit of an issue. This option is suitable for cat people like me, but you can easily replace the word cat with hamster, sushi, or Harry Potter — whatever works.

At this point, most people realize how full of himself Kanye West is. It’s a wonder he can share some of his affection for himself with Kim! Your Valentine will know just how much you care if you can say you like him or her more than Yeezus likes himself.

Is your Valentine constantly on Instagram? Then he or she will definitely appreciate this social-media-themed card. “I’d double tap that” can be interpreted as “I’d tap that” or “I like what I see.” Either way, it’s hilarious.

When living in Florida, it’s easy to encounter someone who is bilingual or at least knows a little bit of Spanish. Even if your Valentine doesn’t know this second language, the card translates it for you and shows off how cultured you are… very impressive (insert winky face here).

Ah, Leo. While you wait for him to get an Oscar, you might as well use him to tell your Valentine just how much he or she means to you! Out of all the puns made with his name, this might just be the best one there is. He sure doesn’t mind being the face of this year’s Valentine’s cards.

If you still haven’t gotten that special someone anything for Valentine’s Day, get creative! Stray away from the typical grocery-store-card-aisle raid, and make some of these quirky, funny cards for your family members, friends, or significant other. It’ll be sure to make them laugh and will show them how much you really care about them.

Happy Valentine’s Day, collegiettes™!
