10 Iconic Photos Every Gator Should Take

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

Whether you are graduating this year or are a brand new baby Gator, photos are a major factor in your college career. College is a time filled with new experiences, fun nights and tons of learning, and the best way to remember every single memory 20 years from now is by snapping pictures through it all. There are some photos that virtually ever Gator, past or present, has taken as a rite of passage. Here are just a few pictures that most of you have probably taken or will take before graduate.

1. Century Tower during a tour

At first it’s embarrassing because your parents make you pose in front of all these older college students, but when you’re senior, you’ll be glad you have the picture to remember the butterflies you felt while touring UF’s gorgeous campus for the first time.

2. Moving into your freshman dorm

You’ll never be so miserable any other day in your life, but you’ll be glad you have that picture, especially that snapshot of the moment you meet your new roommate.

3. The bull gator statue on a football gameday

A classic statue on campus, it’s a photo op for all occasions, whether you’re touring campus, having fun on gameday or wearing a cap and gown.

4. Eating pizza inside the Satchel’s Pizza van

Did you really graduate UF if you never ate at Satchel’s Pizza? This coveted seating arrangement is one you’ll want to document for sure.

5. Dancing on a bar in Midtown

This one is for your 21st birthday night and probably one you won’t remember, but it’ll most likely haunt you for the years to come.

6. Gator chomping in the stadium

There are no greater memories than gameday, and what better way to commemorate it with than a photo of you chomping with 90,000 of your friends?

7. A day spent at Lake Wauburg

You heard about it at Preview, but it may take all four years to actually go. Once you’re there, you’ll wonder why you didn’t come sooner.

8. The rumored buffalos at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park

Make sure you hit up Paynes Prairie in one of the cooler months for the best opportunity, but either way you’re guaranteed to see a gator!

9. Floating down Ginnie Springs

You spend all day sitting on the couch watching Netflix. Instead, spend it sitting in a tube drifting down the springs with your friends.

10. Crossing the stage at graduation

Whether it’s a Gator chomp or a classic pose, this is one that will make everyone cry and be the perfect ending to your four years.

Whether you’re a senior about to graduate or a freshman just starting, these photos will be great memories to reminisce about in 20 years when you’re old and irrelevant. Start snapping those photos, ladies!
