It’s February! This Valentine’s Day, you are that girl. Whether you are celebrating your relationship with your partner, besties, or yourself, there’s always a reason to love! While there’s always some kind of pressure that comes with Valentine’s Day; like wanting someone special to spend it with, having the perfect plans, or just having decorations out, this is YOUR day. This year, Valentine’s Day is about taking care of ourselves, spreading happiness, and girlhood. To get you in the mood for this wonderfully pink-hearted season, here are some of my personal music recommendations!

For when you’re feeling like the IT Girl (which is always):

  1. “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer
  2. “Perfect Day” by Hoku
  3. “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” by The Four Seasons
  4. “Then She Appeared” by XTC
  5. “Betty” by Taylor Swift

For when you’re in love:

  1. “Just Wanna Be With You” from High School Musical 3
  2. I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain
  3. “The Search is Over” by Survivor
  4. “Walking in the Rain” by David Cassidy and The Partridge Family
  5. “Superstar” by Taylor Swift

For when you’re going through it:

  1. “Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You” by Jason Robert Brown, The Last Five Years
  2. “Nothing New” by Taylor Swift and Phoebe Bridgers
  3. “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” by Taylor Swift
  4. “Not Over You” by Gavin DeGraw
  5. “River” by Joni Mitchell

For when you’re celebrating yourself:

  1. “Starstruck” by Sterling Knight, from Starstruck
  2. Make Your Own Kind of Music” by Cass Elliot
  3. “Me Party” from The Muppets
  4. “Juice” by Lizzo
  5. “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” By Shania Twain

These are just some of my favorites both during February and year-round. I hope everyone has a great day celebrating love, whether it’s for yourself or someone else! Hopefully, these songs make their way into your playlist!
